Anglican Institue Lecture: Deep Things We Share: Discipleship and the Lord's Supper
We celebrate the Lord's Supper as Jesus instructed, but for many its role in daily discipleship has been neglected. Come along to this lecture to learn again how the discipleship agenda for your church - whatever it is - might be strengthened by sharing in the deep things of the Lord during the Communion service.
This event will be livestreamed, as well as hosted in person at Ridley College in Melbourne.
Speaker: Revd Canon Dr Rhys Bezzant
Rhys studied German at the Universities of Melbourne and Cologne, graduating with an MA, before commencing theological studies at Ridley, where he wrote his doctorate on the ecclesiology of Jonathan Edwards. Rhys joined the Faculty at Ridley in 2004, after working in both parish and student ministry. He was ordained priest in the Diocese of Melbourne in 1997, and has served on the ministry teams of both small and large Melbourne Anglican parishes, including Heidelberg and Carlton, as well as Prahran and Brimbank. He is a Canon at St Paul’s Cathedral, a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society, Director of the Jonathan Edwards Center Australia, and has a heart to see Anglican church services more theologically rich and useful for training believers to serve God everyday.
